Starved Rock State Park

We have been trying to enjoy as many things in the area as possible since my semester ended in June.  One night I got on the computer and found a state park called Starved Rock State Park which was about 1.5 hours away.  In the morning we hit the road and the drive was well worth it.

The place was beautiful and a welcome change from the flatlands of Illionis.  It had 18 canyons and an interesting history to learn about.  The kiddos did great.  Grant had to hike most of the trip and did better than anticipated.  Though, you may notice a pic or two where he did get in the hiking pack for a bit!
