For those of you who didn't hear, we hit a deer on Christmas day heading to celebrate with my family. We were cruising on interstate 80 when a doe decided to run across the road. It's so weird when you are about to hit a deer because for some reason I was still thinking she would get across and everything would be OK. That wasn't the case. I was fearing when I looked back I would see her suffering, she wasn't but I still felt awful. Grant and both the dogs took it well. In fact they acted like nothing happened. I think we were pretty lucky considering we were going about 72 mph on the interstate. Ian came to our rescue and picked us up in his van. So we got Grant all set up in Sophia's car seat, loaded the dogs in the back and packed all the presents in too. After a minor delay we made it out to mom and dad's for a Christmas dinner and celebration.
After owning our van for just a little over 2 months this is what she looks like. The picture doesn't quite do it justice. The repair people called us about a week ago and told us it was $4,300 damage. Thank goodness for insurance!!!!
