A Visit from Papa Jim

Papa Jim stopped by for a visit not long ago.  We didn't go into Chicago and instead spent our time exploring Naperville.  It was a great visit and the kids had a blast.  Here our a few of the highlights.

We went to the Springbrook Prairie Preserve which is a native tall-grass prairie that is home to a number of endangered birds.  In addition to the wildlife we got to see some model airplanes flying.  These people are serious about their hobby.

We walked around some beautiful areas of the downtown riverwalk that we had never seen.  Of course, we stopped for a bit at the playgrounds there and around our house.  About every block in this town has it's own playground!

We stopped by my campus to show Dad around.  Grant decided to teach us all about dinosaurs.

Gracie was a good student!

The weekend he happened to be here was graduation weekend.  At first I was just going to skip it, but I had a number of senior students and so I decided to see them graduate.  It was nice to be sitting at a graduation as a faculty member!

Of course we also had lots of fun playing at the house.

Thanks for the great visit Dad.  We all had a blast and are looking forward to being able to visit with each other more often.
