This Face

This is the face I got the other day when trying to get a smile out of Grant.  I agree buddy, the fake sneeze is getting a little old, I'll work on some new material.  :)

Grant is starting to sit up by himself.  This week he started playing with this wood barn/shape sorter and he loves it.  Notice the strategically placed pillows.  He sometimes gets a little excited and falls to the floor.

If Grant is on the floor he is sure to have at least one of his animal buddies with him.  They are all very sweet to him.

Cooper may look a little funny but he seems to enjoy his lack of hair.  Last weekend Lara shaved him to keep him a little cooler (& to keep a little more hair out of the house).

Mr. and Mrs. Dzwonkowski

On Saturday Jeff, Grant and I attended what we say is the most beautiful wedding we have ever been to.  Jeff's childhood friend Amy got married in Foxburg, PA.  Although it is not far from where either of us had grown up, we had never been.  The church was so adorable and quaint and the reception was GORGEOUS!!  We had front row seats all evening on the Allegheny river.  Good food, friends, and family just made the night perfect.

                                                                CONGRATULATIONS AMY AND BRIAN!!!

Hiking Penn Roosevelt State Park

We have lots of state parks in the area and decided to head out to one we had never visited.  Penn Roosevelt State Park seemed like it had been forgotten about 20 years ago!  It was slightly dilapidated but the great thing about it was that it was off the beaten path and no one was there.  The other nice thing is that the PA Mid-State trail runs right through it.  So, we put Grant in the backpack and went for a good hike.  Our little boy seemed to love it!

Mountain Laurel was blooming everywhere and made the hike that much more beautiful.

We love hiking and it was a great place to hike...and the tick that I found buried in my leg Monday morning, well that was just a reminder of the good day we had the day before! :)

6 Months!!!

Actually, Grant turned 6 months old a week and a half ago but we just had his 6 month Dr. appointment yesterday.  He is 19 lbs 5 oz which puts him in the 80th percentile, so still a big boy!  He has been such a happy, easy-going baby.  At the Dr. he got 3 shots and cried for a few seconds but calmed down soon after Mommy picked him up.  He is just starting to get his first tooth and is still rocking his Mohawk.  The Dr. thought it looked adorable and thought we should gel it up.  The funniest thing was that Grant decided to show off a little while there.  The Dr. was asking us all these questions about his development, "can he hold things in his hand? does he roll over? does he baby talk?", and eventually she said, "does he wave hello or goodbye?"  Lara and I both said that we had never seen him wave and Grant proceeded right then to wave to the Dr!  It was so cute.  And speaking of cuteness, here is our baby boy.  He is getting so big, so fast and we are enjoying every minute with him.

Camping at Forget-Me-Not

This weekend was spent at Forget-Me-Not (Lara's family's property along the Clarion River).  The Hetrick crew was missed but we had a blast.

We spent lots of time sitting around the campfire...

lots of time playing in the river...

and what little time was left we spent sleeping!!!

It was Grant's first ever camping trip and he did great.  He took good naps and slept good at night.  He seemed to enjoy watching the fire and being with so much of his family.  On Sunday Lara and I took a drive to Clarks Mills to visit my Dad and also to stop by my Mom's grave.  It was a perfect day and a great visit.

While there we gave Grant a sippy cup for the first time and he seemed to know what to do with it.

We had a great weekend and are so happy we got to visit with everyone.
