The rest of September

Here are some random happenings in September.

This is the Peach Festival Parade in Lewiston.  It was a weird day of rain blowing in and out.  It really was a fun time, I just didn't get many photos of the day.

Papa Jim came up on the 22nd, (which is Jeff's Birthday) so he could watch the kids because there was a parent only event at Grant's school.  Gracie and I baked him cookies instead of having a cake.  Papa Jim was nice enough to document it!

This was just a shot I got while playing with Gracie in her room.  I just love it!!!

I took Gracie to get frozen yogurt because it was the first time she dunked in the bath tub!  She has proven to be quite a bugger with water going on her face.  We are trying to work on it.  And no, she hasn't done it again since!!!!

Just lounging in the pool when it is mid September!

Our annual Light the Night walk was September 29th this year.  It looked like it was going to rain but we got real lucky and ended up having a great night.

First Day of School!

So the first day of first grade was on Tuesday, September 6th 2016.  Grant had a great morning and was in much better spirits compared to how he felt on the first day of Kindergarten.  We are so proud of him.  Next year it will be both of them...crazy!

He was pretty excited to "race the bus", something he started doing at the end of last year.

Gracie and I were busy during the day getting his things ready for when he came home.

September- Time for school...Almost!

Grant had a meet the teacher/drop of supplies at his school on September 1st.  He did great this year saying hello to the teacher and to kids from his old class that he saw.

He even let us get a picture of him with his teacher Miss Jordan!!

We tried to squeeze in a few more fun things before school started.  We went fishing up north to a spot Jeff has been trying to get to for a while now.  The kids still have yet to catch a fish but we keep trying!

The last thing right before school was going to the great Stoneboro Fair with Jason, Heather, and Jim.  It has the tradition for the past few years now that we meet up at the fair.  Carly did a few more rides this year with Gracie and she really loved that!  Always such a fun day!

Camping at Papa Jim's

We knew all summer that we wanted to go camping at Papa Jim's.  Finally, the last weekend in August we made it happen.  I guess technically this is the second time we camped there.  The first time was a blur because on the way is when we were in a car accident and totaled the van (with the canoe on top, which was completely fine and didn't budge!!)  The kids had a great weekend.  Papa got a pool this summer, which the kids LOVED, and a swing set too.  We also hiked down at the lake with the dogs!

On our way home we stopped at Pymatuning so the kids could feed the fish.

Just a few days later on a Wednesday before school started we went to Presque Isle State Park.  We were trying to go for the pontoon boat ride that gives you a tour around the park.  It was a rainy day and they ended up cancelling all the boat tours.  We tried to make the best of it and went to the Tom Ridge Enviornmental Center during the worst of the rain.  It did try to clear up so we hit the beach for a little.  While there it rained but the kids were in the water so at that point it didn't matter!  The beach was dead and the kids were having a blast.
