Class of 2028

Grant had kindergarten orientation on May 19th.  He was excited to do it until the day of it and then he was a bit nervous.  He fussed a bit as we walked in the cafeteria and was hesitant to go with the teacher.  After we got his name tag on, the teacher took his hand and walked him to his classroom as Lara and I went to the gym.  When we met back up, the teacher told us that he did great and Grant said that he had fun.

We all took a bus ride together after his time in the classroom.  Grant loved it and thought it was like an amusement park ride.  He is now quite excited for kindergarten.

Grant, we are so proud of you and can't wait to see how great you will do in kindergarten.

Other stuff we've been doin

We went to Mercer to visit our good friends, Jon and his family and Nate, in April.  We also got to see Nate's new house in Stoneboro.  We are really looking forward to our beach trip with them this summer.

 

We have been hiking a lot along the river looking for sea glass and throwing rocks.

Both kids have really been enjoying playing with Lego's.  This is a star ship that Grant made.  He is still into space and also Batman as you can see by his shirt.

Dad gave us his old canoe, which we now need, since the kids are getting a bit too big to fit in the kayaks with us.  We have only been out on it once so far this spring and paddled on Woods Creek and a bit on the Niagara.

We have been putting our blow-up pool to good use.

In early May Amy and the kiddos met Lara for a day at the Buffalo Zoo.

Grant decided he wanted to make some money and so he made his own water stand.  He wanted to sell lemonade but we didn't have any.  He was so excited when the neighbor came over and gave him a dollars worth of change.

Happy Mother's Day

We left Jason & Heather's on Mother's Day and stopped back in Clarks Mills to plant some flowers at Mom's headstone.

Lara and the kids then went to Aunt Jenny's for a Mother's Day dinner with grandma and I headed back north to finish up the semester.

A visit with the Law's

Here are some pics from the ball field.  We got to see Cody and Carly both play a game and also got to watch Cody in a dance competition.  We had a great time and were glad everyone found time to make it happen.

While we were there we celebrated Papa Jim's (or as Gracie would say, Papa Jimmy's) birthday.  Happy Birthday Dad!

A trip to Grandma & Papa's

Lara and the kids took a trip to visit Grandma and Papa in mid-May for a few days.  I had to stay home to get some grading done for the end of the semester.  We then all met up at Papa Jim's house and continued on to visit Uncle Jason and Aunt Heather for the weekend.

Aunt Jenny was sick and so Lara and the kids decided to take Jenna for a day of Cook Forest fun.

This was Grant and Gracie's first time riding!!  They both did really good.  They were going to ride Clyde, the mini, but he was actually a little too spunky.  Excalibur was such a good boy!
