April 21, 1947 - September 1, 2004

Each time my feet touched the earth I knew my mother was there with me. I knew this body was not mine alone but a living continuation of my mother and father and my grandparents and great-grandparents. Of all my ancestors. These feet that I saw as "my" feet were actually "our" feet. Together my mother and I were leaving footprints in the damp soil. From that moment on the idea that I had lost my mother no longer existed. All I had to do was look at the palm of my hand, feel the breeze on my face or the earth under my feet to remember that my mother is always with me, available at any time.

Birthdays & Preparing for Baby

I haven't posted anything for awhile and for the most part nothing too eventful has been going on. With the exception of last weekend, we have been spending the weeks working and spending the weekends working on the house. Here are a few projects that got done with the help of Jenny & Jed while they came for an overnight visit. We pressure washed and water sealed our picnic table and steps.
Oh the excitement, I know!!! We have been organizing the basement and trying to get odds and ends done around the house. I'll spare you from any pictures of that!

In more exciting news, we journeyed to Cook Forest last weekend to celebrate the big 3-0 with Amy and Anna turning 5. Amy already has up some great pics from Anna's party on her blog so I'll just post a couple of the Standfest crew that I took.

Wow, they are three head turners. Lara with her pregnant glow and 8 kids between the other two!? All three of you looked beautiful.
...and the whole Standfest crew!!!
Happy Birthday Anna and Amy!!! I hope that you had as good of a weekend as we did.
