Defended and Relieved

Here are a few pics from our last few days in Pennsylvania.  While I was being grilled at my defense, Papa Jim and Grant were enjoying a nice bike ride.  It was great to have Dad and Lara at my defense presentation (Thanks for watching the kiddos Dale and Grace!).

Here are a few pics from the next day at Dad's house.  It was great to see both Jason and his crew and the Hetricks.  Unfortunately I didn't take many pics after Amy and Ian's arrival so I am going to have to get copies from you guys.  Thanks so much for making the trip to see us again before our big move.  Also, thank you everyone for the gifts.  It wasn't lost on me that our get-together was 8 years to the day since Mom passed away in that very house.  It was nice to be there to celebrate my defense.

Update Finally!!

So much has happened since Jeff last blogged.  I am skipping a lot of stuff but I couldn't let it go much longer without getting this post up.  Jeff defended his PhD thesis on August 30th.  Mom and dad came down to State College so I could go watch him give his presentation.  He did amazing, passed the 2 hour grilling session of questions (thanks goodness it was Friday afternoon!) and is now Dr. Law!!!!!  This picture is of him clicking the submit button to his committee.  No more making charts, edits, and most of all no more writing!!

This was the building at Penn State that Jeff called home in the final stretch of getting his thesis done.

As many of you already know there wasn't much time for celebration.  We were off to Illinois where he accepted a teaching position at North Central College in Naperville, IL.  This is my man walking to his first day on the job.  Yes, our place is just a few blocks away from the school, it's a wonderful thing!!

And now this is the building he is going to be calling home!

You have worked so hard and it has all paid off.  I am SOOOOOOOO PROUD of you hun!!!!
