Are You Mighty???

On Saturday, Jeff ran in the the Mighty Niagara Half Marathon.  He hasn't run one in a few years so he was very excited for it to finally be race day.  The day was beautiful and maybe even a little too nice.  It got a little hotter then he was hoping for but it was still a great day.  The course ran through some small towns but stayed mostly along the Niagara river.  As a spectator the views of Lake Ontario were amazing and there were a few different spots along the way that we were able to cheer for him.  Mom and Dad were here visiting so they got to come along and help cheer him on.

Light the Night 2014!!

Last Thursday, September 18th was the annual Light the Night walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  On September 1st it marked the 10 year anniversary since Jan has been gone.  We still can't believe that much time has passed and so many changes have happened since then.  The walk is always a wonderful night and this year Denise got to join us as well which was really special!!  The Hetrick family came again this year to walk with us too.  Thank you to all of you who donated and showed your support to fight this terrible disease.

The Great Stoneboro Fair

The past 2 years now we have gotten together with Papa Jim and the Law Family at the Stoneboro Fair which always falls over Labor Day weekend.  The kids always have such a great time and this year Grant got a little more excited about the rides.  Grace was too small last year to ride most everything and this year she tried her best to get on all that she could.  It was yet another great day with their cousins.

End of Summer fun

We had a VERY busy or shall I say FUN summer this year.  I really, really noticed it this summer but then I realized why.  We started it out with a trip to Nags Head North Carolina with all of our family for the first time.  Had a fun trip to Penn State for 2 nights while Jeff attended a conference.  From there got to head south for a visit to Aunt Peg and Connie's, had a fun 4th of July on the Island, Ryan's 4th Birthday party, went to Ohio to visit the Law Family for 4 days, The Standfest Family came to visit a couple of nights, went down to Waterford for a parade the girls were in, went to Maine, Black Moshannon, and capped off the summer with a visit from the Fiscus family.  Not to mention all the little things in between!!  We were very lucky to do all that we did this summer and especially to be able to do so much with our families.  Here are some pictures of what we got to do while the Fiscus' were here right before their school year started.

Camping at Black Moshannon State Park

We got back from Maine on a Monday and we left for camping down in Pennsylvania on Friday.  We were camping with the Fiscus family at Black Moshannon which is near State College.  A favorite spot for both of our families!!

Miss Ella has a very soft spot in Grant's heart. They had so much fun jumping off of this wall at the beach together.  I have a ton of sequences like this but this one was my favorite!!  I love how they are identical stride for stride!

One night we headed into town to our favorite old hot spot, Bellefonte Wok, for dinner.  Of course we had to stop at our old park too!!

After we loaded up on Sunday morning we all took a  hike together on a boardwalk.  After that we were headed for home.

Our Trip to Maine!!

We had an amazing trip to Maine from July 30th to August 4th!  We went to visit Cam and Mandy and meet Eden for the first time!!  What made the trip extra special was that Jon and Carolyn and their kids were going up too!!  We started out with a little side trip to Coolidge State Park in the white mountains of Vermont.  We knew we were going to have to break the trip up with a stop, so Jeff found this really great park to be our resting spot.  The campground was just beautiful with the most amazing views which made it easy to enjoy the area.

You couldn't beat the view right from our tent!!!!

Next we were on to Freeport, Maine which has become a staple stop for Jeff and I when we are traveling to Maine.  We love to stop at the LLBean outlet and just love the quaint town.  We always end up with a great find at a bargain price!!

After we spent one night in Freeport we headed to Cam's house in Phippsburg, Maine.  We camped out along with the Farrell's for a few nights.  It was so nice for all the kids to get together.  They all had such a great time and were completely exhausted by the end of the trip.

Of course we hit up the beach pretty hard!  The kids loved it and it was a great place to fly kites.

It was so great to get together with Cam and Jon's familys!  Hope it's something we can do annually!!!!
