Babies!!!

If you haven't already heard the good news, both Lara's sisters had a baby recently. Amy and Ian had Sophia Grace Hetrick on March 6 and Jenny and Jed had Luke Alan Fiscus on March 10. You may think Sofia and Luke are absolutely adorable in these pictures but they are even cuter in person.

We made a trip to Dunkirk, Ny to congratulate the Hetrick's and to welcome Amy and Sophia home from the hospital two weekends ago.


The following weekend we took a trip to Cook Forest to visit Luke and the Fiscus Family. The Hetrick family with new addition Sofia also made the trip.
Saturday morning Emma, Anna, and Aunt Lara decided to start the day with a little meditation while Jenny and Jed took some morning time to enjoy Luke. I love this picture!!!

Lara and I got to have a few nice hikes in the forest with family during the weekend. Here's Sofia enjoying her first hike.

Jeff, Lisa, and Nate also came out to enjoy the nice weather.

SOS Answered!!!

Today Lara and I got the good news that we will be able to stay in State College and finish my Ph.D. I found someone that would be able to support me through teaching assistantships and be able to fund my research. I will be starting a new project but my new advisor is hopeful that I can start collecting data this spring. Dr. Rob Gallagher answered my SOS and I could not have been happier to meet him. He is a professor of cropping systems so it will be a change in direction from my previous research. However, one of the goals of his research is to reduce the environmental impact of agricultural on the environment. So although it is different than what I've done, it relates quite well to my background. Lara and I are so happy and relieved to know where we will be living for the next few years and that I'll be finishing my Ph.D.

Brushing Your Pet's Teeth

Yesterday Lara created a new handout for her vet clinic on how to brush your dog's teeth. Cooper "posed" perfect for it. All Metzger customers that get a dental will be given it.

New Carpet!!!

We finally bit the bullet and got new carpet installed. We decided to post a few before and after pics. Some of the "befores" are from when we did our walk through before buying the house. We are happy with the work we did and absolutely love that the upstairs is all carpet!
